Protect the empty space at all costs
In your diary and in your mind. You will be greatly rewarded.
I posted recently about creating spaciousness. As I share the insights that come up for me, I am also being invited to be true to my word and walk my talk. So I really appreciate you all being here on this journey with me, as you are keeping me accountable to myself.
I think we all felt the sense of spaciousness after the busyness of the recent time of year (Christmas for some, celebration for most, frantic organisation for a few). For most there was a time of rest before the return to work on January 6th, which is also Nollaig na mBan, in Ireland, Women’s Christmas. For more on that, I really encourage you to read
’s brilliant post on the subject and how we might re-imagine it.I made a commitment to myself, to honour the spaciousness and prioritise self care and creativity as we stepped through the Solstice portal (the new year for me). As I wrote previously, spaciousness holds a sense of feminine energy. We all hold this feminine or yin energy, whether male or female. I truly feel we are being asked by the Divine to embody our feminine energy more and more. This is not something that will come easily as we have been programmed to live from a masculine perspective for a very very long time. Masculine in this sense referring to action, doing, planning, always on alert. So as I looked at my diary for this first week of the year, instead of creating a list of things to do, I want to honour the emptiness. We are after all, still in the rhythm of Winter in the Northern hemisphere.
So as we reclaim our connection with nature, it is a radical act, to allow the spaciousness of hibernation and rest, when the rest of the world returns to the busyness of work.
