Retreating over busyness

A vital reframing for our collective evolution

Oh what an interesting time of year to observe as our realities diverge over darkness or sparkle. We’re approaching the Solstice, but we’re not there yet. Some folks in my town had their Christmas trees up in November, reminding me that some absolutely love the glitter and sparkle, and that’s ok, but for me, I’m not ready to engage in festivities. It doesn’t feel right. Yet.

We also have a new moon on the 19th (tomorrow), so we really are in the darkest part of the year completely. It asks us to pause, slow down, retreat. We’re still in the year of the snake and as we approach its ending, we’re still shedding the old skins that no longer serve our trajectory.

Some of you may also be aware of a comet that was identified in July, known as 3I Atlas, that has been approaching earth, identified as an interstellar object - a comet that comes from somewhere far beyond our galaxy that is older than anything we have ever identified and this cosmic body of matter will be on a trajectory that is closest to the earth, tomorrow - December 19th. Whether you have been following this object or not, it would appear that it is not random, but very much aligned with the incredible shifts we are experiencing in these days. It’s appearance changed from green to gold, with a tail that stretches over 400,000km, pointed towards the sun. Aligned with every solar flare, CME, volcanic eruption and earthquake, as if it is assisting in shaking the earth and all of us, free of the shackles of the deep past programming that disconnected us from harmonious truth.

And then we have the Solstice - one of the most potent portals of the year, as we begin to re-emerge from the darkness in the Northern hemisphere. Only this year feels more potent than ever before, with an expectancy of hope, light, breakthrough new beginnings based in love. And to top it off, we are in a number 9 year (2+0+2+5) which relates to completion.

I am sensing, as I have personally been shedding incredibly deep ancestral patterns that I was previously unaware of, that we will experience a renewed power as we step into the year of the fire horse and a number 1 year of brand new beginnings. This is an inner power that can only gain its source from the heart. In the depths of release, it feels like absolute muck (to put it mildly!) with no way out - powerless and hopeless. In the depths of the shedding, we can feel the old patterns raising their heads, but this time it feels different - they don’t have the same hold as they did before.

Understanding that this is all part of the bigger picture, all we can do is surrender completely. As the old layers of ego are released, it feels like we’re losing control. And yes, the part of us that relied on the ego for guidance is dying. As we surrender, we find our inner light of truth. “The shy inner light that seeks no attention” as John O’Donohue would say. Surrender allows the shedding to release resistance. It’s still an ugly mess that may require 6 boxes of kleenex, but there’s a comfort in knowing that we’re completely supported in the process by the beings of light that surround us and guide us. Our ancestors, and now, the beings that bring us 3I Atlas from another realm. For these times have been pre-ordained for aeons. The outcome only made possible by the incredible hearts all over the world who chose to remember. There is a better way.

And so, with this Solstice we remember the light and our power to create and visualise and manifest the light. Our inner light is the only light that matters. Allowing that shy inner light to radiate is the most important thing we can embrace.

So retreat. Know that as you feel unready to celebrate Christmas or get caught up in the busyness, you are on track with the collective reset. Nothing else matters right now.

I will have the privilege of gathering with some beautiful sisters on retreat over the Solstice weekend with the feminine energy of the Boyne river (The Goddess Boann), across from the ancient sacred site of Newgrange that our ancestors built over 5,000 years ago to harness the energy of the rising winter solstice sun. As the Northern Hemisphere celebrates the return of the outer light, we will rest into the restorative, nourishing, replenishing energy of our inner light.
